SOJOURN FELLOWSHIP

OUR VISION

  • Christ and the Cross- To be firmly and unswervingly centered upon the person and sacrificial work of Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 2:2; 1 Cor. 15:3-5; 2 Cor. 5:14-15; Gal. 2:20; Php. 1:21; Col. 2:3; Jn 15:4-5)
  • The Glory of God- To be a community who lives moment by moment for the glory, fame, and renown of God. (1 Th 1:11-12; 1 Cor. 10:31; Isa. 43:7)
  • The Holy Scriptures- To be passionately committed to knowing God and following His will through the Holy Scriptures with prayer. (John 17:3; Acts 17:11; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 1 Th. 5:17)
  • The Everyday Gospel- To be Christians who daily live in light of the life-giving Gospel--joyfully leading a lifestyle of repentance from sin and faith towards Christ. (Mark 1:15; Rom. 1:16; Col. 2:6-7; 1 Jn. 1:7-9; Tit. 2:11)
  • The Whole Counsel of God- To be those who wholeheartedly endeavor to receive and teach the "whole counsel of God," not just preferred parts. (Acts 20:27; Matt. 28:19-20; 2 Tim. 3:16-17)
  • Community Love and Care- To be a community of people knit together with a common love for and from the Savior--sacrificing for, relying upon, encouraging, and loving one another daily. (John 13:34; Heb. 10:24-25; 1 Th. 4:9-10)
  • Missional Focus- To be ministers of reconciliation, striving to accurately show and speak the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Incheon, South Korea, and the world. (2 Cor. 5:18-20; Matt. 28:19-20)
  • Joyful Abandonment- To be those who renounce everything besides Christ that we tend to build our lives on--counting the cost of following Jesus and, by God's abundant grace, enduring the many challenges that it involves. (Luk 14:25-33; 1 Jn. 5:4; 2 Tim. 1:8; Php. 1:29; Rom. 8:18)
  • Lights of the World- To be a display of God's lovingkindness to the world by being deeply and tangibly concerned for those who are weak, poor, down-trodden, marginalized, persecuted, orphaned, widowed, and oppressed. (Matt. 5:13-16; Jam. 1:27; Jam. 2:15-16; 2 Th. 5:14)
  • "For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised."
  • - II Corinthians 5:14-15
